Tom Bruise (?) called today while I was in the shower. He left a message to let me know that I did not get the job.

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda relieved.

The more I thought about this job situation, the more I realized that I didn't want to be pinned down by the commitment of a very nice full-time position. (Plus, I really was worried about calling my boss "Tom Cruise" on a consistent basis.) Instead, my dad has found me a few potential jobs with the local community college. This could work out to my advantage in so many ways, including but not limited to free tuition and a short commute. I could take online courses, travel to Texas on weekends, and start collecting hobbits and oompa loompas in my spare time.

So, I guess I'll be sending in a few more copies of my résumé tomorrow. Here's hoping that I can land the perfect job with enough time to squeeze out a first paycheck before my next cell phone bill is due . . .
