A Firm Believer in Having and Eating One's Cake
My lovely friend, Haynes (more commonly known as "Sexy Beast"), has been gracious enough to lend me his laptop whilst we are sitting in his second class of the day. I doodled my way through Animal Behavior, but I'm not sure I would've made it through Genetics with just pen and paper.
Today is my last full day in Texas, and there's no way I'm ready to go home yet. I'm so much happier around my friends that I haven't even minded going to class or chapel. I haven't had to devote a single conversation to brochures or name tags or butterflies. Well, I take that back. Once I mentioned that my job at the church involves a lot of butterflies, my oh-so-smart friends taught me about the etymology of the word "butterfly," the migration patterns of butterflies, and exactly how much butter a butterfly could fly if a butterfly could fly butter.
In any case, it's been a lovely break from the rather lifeless existence I have going on back home. I have an application in my purse all filled out and ready to go in the vain hope that my college will accept my $20k+ and allow me to return next semester for classes. It would mean living on Pop-Tarts and selling my soul for laundry money, but I'm cool with that. It's worth it to be around such truly amazing people.
